A car matcher with nothing to sell you
WhatsMyCar is built and run by one person in the UK. It exists because most car advice online is either an advert or a lead form.
Most car advice is paid for
Search for the best car for a family of four and you get a list somebody paid to be on, or a form that turns into three phone calls from a dealer. Neither one answers the question you asked.
This site does one narrow thing instead. It takes what you can spend and how you actually drive, applies the same fixed rules to 200 UK models, and shows its working. There is nothing to buy here and nowhere for a dealer to reach you.
200 models, kept deliberately small
Each model carries a price range for every year it was sold, plus banded ratings for running cost, reliability, boot space, motorway comfort and performance. Those bands are compiled by hand from published UK market data, not scraped from live listings.
That is why the list is 200 models rather than every variant ever built. A smaller set that has been checked is more use than a large one that has not.
Six things that will not change

The scoring is visible
Every result explains which of your answers helped it and which counted against it. Nothing is hidden behind a match score.

Nothing is sponsored
No manufacturer, dealer or broker pays to appear. There are no affiliate links, so the order of the list has nothing to gain.

No lead selling
Your answers are not a sales lead. Nobody gets your details, and you will not get a call about a car you looked at.

UK figures only
Prices in pounds, UK models and trims, and running costs that assume UK fuel prices and road tax.

Rules, not a chatbot
The ranking is deterministic. The same answers always produce the same list, and it cannot invent a car that is not in the database.

Free, and staying that way
There is no account, no premium tier and no paywall. The only running cost is a small server bill.
